Logic Grid Puzzles: a Python guide with a solver
US$9, one payment, downloaded as a zip.
A written guide with full Python source. Standard library only, no extra installs.
What you get:
- A generator that writes a dated logic grid puzzle for each day, using one of five built-in themes or themes you add in one list.
- A solver that counts every possible solution, so you can check that a puzzle has exactly one answer before you use it.
- One command that builds and checks a month of puzzles, and reports an error if any puzzle fails.
- 30 sample puzzles with answers.
- The guide as PDF and Markdown.
What we tested: the command built and checked 30 puzzles in one run on our test machine, and found exactly one answer for each. The run log, verify.log, is in the download.
What we did not test: whether the puzzles are fun or how hard they are. Nobody has play-tested them. Grids are 4 by 4 by 4 only. The code was run on Python 3.11 and Python 3.14. The samples use four of the five clue kinds; "different" clues do not appear in them.
This is a programming tutorial. It makes no claim about money you could earn from puzzles.
